Daily hearing care

Stay away from the risk factors in your daily life: Apart from the aging related hearing loss, the other risk factors to hearing loss are genes, ototoxic drugs, noise, smoking, over-seasoned food, and irregular living patterns.
Control the risk factors from chronic diseases, including blood sugar, blood pressure, and blood lipids.
Regular hearing check-up: It is recommended to have a yearly hearing review to track your hearing conditions.
Keep a pleasant mood.

Detect the signs of hearing loss

People often think you speak too loudly.
Have trouble hearing in a noisy environment like restaurants or on the street.
Misunderstand what people say and use the words “huh”, “what”, and “say again” a lot.
Family or neighbors complain that you turn the TV/radio volume up too high.
Have trouble hearing sounds clearly or hearing high frequency sounds, such as running water from the faucet, flushing the toilet, doorbell ringing, telephone ringing, ticking of the watches, fans, rubbing of hands, flipping through newspapers, rubbing plastic bags, and heavy breathing.

Hearing loss treatments and interventions

Hearing loss caused by Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss and otitis media can be treated from the proper treatments, medications, or surgery. It is recommended to see a doctor as soon as possible.
Currently, aging related hearing loss (presbycusis) cannot be treated with medication or surgery. The patients need to wear hearing devices (personal sound amplification products, PSAPs or hearing aids).
Alternative medicine or self-prescribed medication might increase the health burden for your body and miss the best timing for appropriate treatments and interventions.
